A friend asked:
Hey Sam. Are auras real? My dad says they are not real and it is just new age hippie crap. I believe in you because I know you tell the truth.
To which I replied:
Well the idea of the aura also known as the “halo” or “nimbus” has cropped up in every culture on every continent. We see them of course in Christian iconography but also in Roman and Greek iconography as well as Hindu, Buddhist, Egyptian, Incan and Aztec. Beings of great power are seen with energy fields surrounding them. Sometimes around the head but often the entire body. It is thought that the universal tradition of rulers wearing a crown is in emulation of this phenomena. It is a fact that the human brain and especially the human heart emit powerful electric fields and powerful magnetic fields. (See the top figure above). It is also the case that humans have organs in their heads which allow them to sense these fields. It is amazing at how similar these fields look when compared to ancient depictions of auras or halos. So, there is no doubt that the fields exist. Science has confirmed this. The real question is how did the ancients know they existed and how come so many people today all over the world can sense them without sophisticated electronic equipment?
